I understand that open loop happens at a throttle % or WOT.

In idle when my car hits a certain degree it goes into open loop. To make it lean i go to the fuel make and make it lean in thesis cells correct?

 

Shouldn't you be in closed loop at idle?

 

the car starts in open loop until the sensor gets up to temp, then it moves into closed loop. it stays in closed loop below the set RPM threshold, and the TPS threshold. if the sensor is bad, it will jump into and out of closed loop eraddically, and it will be rich or lean at idle and during cruise.
