Looking to buy an evo 8 that needs a few things

I am looking at this evo that needs a transfer case and ECU since he started to part the car. It is all it needs. I have the question about the ECU issue.

Can I just buy a used ecu and plug it in and the car will fire up or is there a case learn? If so let me know what's involved and what needs to be done.

Thanks
Nick

No the ECU has to be flashed to use the immobilizer that is currently in the car...without the correct settings in ecuflash the car will not start...

I know there is a way to disable the immobilizer, check around the ecuflash area to find this info...

But you'll have to get the ecu flashed before it'll start.

I dont want to do this but, what if I were to buy a ecu, immobilizer, key, ignition from a different car (being from the same car)

id rather find a way that I can use the key that comes with the car as it is the same key for the door and the trunk

you could send the ecu to anyone who can tune, but he problem is you need to know the immobilizer code of the car the ecu is going in

you would need the ecu that goes to the car your trying to use, plug in a laptop, find the code, then put that code into the ecu your trying to put into the car

I just read that all I need is to buy a "new" ecu and once I install it, the dealer will have to sync the immobilizer and keys then it will start. YAY

now i just need to get my hands on a t-case, ecu, radiator with fans and MAF
