Tuning for HPDE/Time Attack
After a couple years away, I'm planning to get back on track this season and was looking for advice on having a road course safe tune. My plan is to keep boost to a flat 25 psi or so with the BBK Full and to keep the timing on the conservative side. One place where I'm unsure is AFR. I've noticed from my EGT probe that if I have the AFR at a fat 11.2 or so, the EGTs at the probe (about 2 inches from the head) are about 20-40 degrees hotter than if the EGT were closer to 11.5-11.7. I assume that this is indicative of extra fuel burning in the manifold and therefore it may still be safer for the motor, putting aside fried exhaust valves, valve seals and the turbo itself.
Anyhow, any advice would be appreciated. I just want to keep things safe on 93 octane for 20-25 minute sessions at around 425 whp. As a rule I don't drive 100% every lap, so I plan to keep things together by being prudent with my driving style as well. My key mods are in my signature.
Thanks for any advice!
