I'll check it out. But I thought my tables were already set up for the Omni 4 bar. Should I need to change the Volt-kPA table as well?

So you are saying that after you scale the tables appropriately, you dont touch the left side of the kPA-Load table, only the right? And the volt-kPA table should ALWAYS be 1:1.

based on how you scale the left depends on overall load the map sensor maxes out to. the right is to fine tune the calibration of the map ve.

start at 1:1 and adjust the right once you're comfortable with the scaling you set to the left.

the left is the map calibration and the right is the directions around the map in ve at the given load.. if that makes any sense.

Im assuming the values I use on the left side can be anything I want in between the operating ranges of the MAP sensor. Since it will likely be 1:1 above 100-150kPA, it doesnt make sense to have values that include 180, 200, etc. The last 2 values just make it linear in between those kPA values. So say my last 2 rows are 150:150 and 450:500(higher in case I overshoot 450, correct?). Then the rows above that will be whatever kPA values I choose to have the most resolution at.

Does that sound correct?

Is 450 the correct maximum kPA of the Omni 4 bar? why not 400?

and why would you not want a value of 0 for the top row on the left side?

no.. the right is volumetric efficiency and the left is the map sensor calibration which is based on a voltage input of 0-5v in range when using an omni map sensor.

3d maps are very helpful because when VE drops at higher rpm so does load.. and you cant tune in reverse with 2d tables so the 3d table will allow you to control VE perfectly when load is dropping at higher RPM levels.. that is a major plus on the 3d tables.. that and being able to fine tune every aspect of the MAP VE.

in a nutshell = the left table is for calibrating and scaling the map sensor for your given load KPA.. and the right is for setting the map VE in those given load KPA areas..

majority of the tuning should be done via the RPM VE (3d map).

wtf...lol

Are you referring to the "kPA-load" table or the "Volts (kPA)-kPA" table?

I was under the impression that once you have the correct scaling in the Volts (kPA) table, it will be 1:1 and should not change. The kPA-Load table is where you do the overall tuning to get it close, then adjust the RPM VE map to fine tune. Do I have it backwards?

The table I qouted earlier is the kPA-Load table...

everything i was saying was based on SD MAP Sensor VE and Calibration table the left being map kpa and right load

i downloaded the 2.0 and it looks like he has this section split into 2 menu's now

map sensor kpa
then
kpa to load

looks like Map Sensor kPa should remain 1:1 yes. he pretty much added the capability to scale the voltages to represent different kpa if not locked in 1:1

and the kpa to load table is your new SD MAP Sensor VE and Calibration table

no wonder i was confusing you lol.

lol...I was hoping that was what was going on.

So now that we are on the same page, do posts 138 and 139 make any sense?

And now that you are looking at what I have, is the scaling for both Volts-kPA and kPA-Load correct for the Omni 4 bar? I think he set them up so they were. I just feel like everytime I go searching for info, I end up reading old information that is no longer applicable and it confuses me and sends me down the wrong path.

the way i would think is based on the scaling factors of the tables is:

make map sensor kpa 1:1

Then copy your settings from that onto the Pressure side in kpa to load table and go about your MAP ve calibration on the right of that and then use your 3d map to do the rest.

why he set it up like that is beyond me. like i said before he must of got requests for people to over expand the scalings on sensors so he gave the ability to unlock the 1:1 voltage vs kpa or like he told me before sensors arent always perfect so maybe he did it to fine tune the sensor to perfection.

Do you still have fix 1 AND 2 enabled? Is it okay to run both? Ive tried all 3 seperately and still get the jitter. Really not too concerned until I get the tuning done, since Ive read that some of it can be aleviated with proper tuning.

tscompusa,
So that is why SkylineRacer's kPA-Load table (the one I qouted earlier) is changed on the left side. Because it should match the scaling found in the Volts-kPA table.

i would assume so. ill ask roadspike when he comes back. i still use 2d sd on customers until the 3d is fully worked out. i read of a bug at around 3k rpm where it fuel cuts the car unexpectedly. that doesn't exist on 2d maps.

^^ that isnt the same as the "jitter"?

I get a hiccup in between 2500-3500, partial throttle, Id guess 70-90 load (around 3-5 in/hg per guage). I thought it was the jitter. 2.0 is my first venture into SD, so I dont have anything to compare to.
