Well i got my tractrix cable the other day and finally got around to messing with the car and i when i hit read from ecu it goes thru everything but at the end it says unable to read rom whats going on ?? i saved the file but i dont know what else to do any help would be greatly appreciated!!

 

did you buy the car new? has it ever been tuned?

 

no i bought it used i buy and retail cars and i decided to keep this one. Car has been modded a good bit so im guessing it has been tuned b4 but not sure of what i can do im going to look in the sticky section about the cant read rom as well and see if i can find anything in that area

 

if i try to open the rom i saved when i attempted it the first time it says" Unknown ROM image in a popup box

 

it probably has a different xml loaded to the ecu.

 

What do i need to do?!?!

 

Try putting in some of the tephra xml's into the rommetadata folder in ecuflash. Just download the xml pack in the tephra threads. Check 'important ecu threads' sticky and you will find them there under the tephra threads.

It just means ecuflash doesn't have a definition file for it.

When the error comes up select continue and give us the rom ID number in the rom info segment inside the left hand box.

 

all it says after i try to read file from ecu that t here is no definition for it and gives me 3 options 1 abort and 1 continue usinfing no definition and one for developers only. And in the left hand box everything is blank exceptmemory model number which is SH7052

 

Exactly continue with no definition and it should still give you the rom ID where the rom info is.

 

Nope nothing after that
