Noob here trying to get things started

Question Noob here trying to get things started

So im new tho this whole tuning area with evos. i have tactrix cable 1.3 that i bought recently.
i have installed openecu and whenever i try to read the ecu on my USDM evo 8, i get this error.



now i havent installed or downloaded anything else on my computer.

same thing on pc and mac

what am i missing here thats causing this? people have told me to install rom but im not sure what that means... do i need another software?

Select the "use wizard..." option and follow the instructions until it tells you what your romid is (then cancel the process). Then tell us what it is so we can refer you to the proper XML definition for your rom.

I don't remember it doing that when I tried it. Try just downloading this xml pack for v7, chances are it'll be one of those, lol.

Put the xml's in your openecu/ecuflash/rommetadata/mitsubishi/evo directory

i was actually just moving there files!
you dont have to change any names correct? just drag and copy.
for example just keep
TephraMOD-88590715-v7
as is
