I have an evo 9 and last night my friend tried to flash my car but was unable to do so.

It was giving him the "Interface closed" error code. We tried it on his car and everything works just fine.

We disconnected the battery, etc , still no luck.

Any ideas?

 

ECU is locked possibly, the voltage was low in your car, something in the OBD plug on the car side of the harness is messed up. Will it turn the car off while its running? If it wont even do that then the harness has an issue somehow.

 

we checked the ECU and it's not locked. The voltage is a possibility, gonna replace the battery and see if it'll work.

I forgot to mention that at first my friend was able to log the car but not read and write, after that he wasn't able to do anything.

Try starting the car and let it run for a few minutes than try and read the ecu

 

did that, still same error

 

Aaron, no it didn't turn the car off while its running. Where can i get a harness?
