05 Evo8 fuel cut only in 1st gear?
Car: 05 Evo8 GSR
Mods: turbo back, no cat, Kelford 272s, walbro, fmic, MBC
Car came to me running 96530706 from another business that supposedly tuned it. Owner recently bought the car and its been like this since the day he bought it. The PO had the car flashed/tuned and had the above listed parts installed.
Boost is set to 18psi, you can turn the boost all the way down to ~11psi and it will still fuel cut.
In the log from Evoscan you can see at around 5200-5600 depending on when you got WOT inj pulsewidth goes from around ~12ms to 1.8ms. It only does this in first gear from a dead start or ~5mph. If you ease into boost in 1st gear it does not do it.
I tried flashing a stock Evo8 rom to the ecu to rule out something in the tune. I know its going to be something silly but for now Im admitting to being stumped. PM me if you want to check out the logs or have any ideas. We would gladly contribute a donation for your time. Guy is a buddy of mine and would like this sorted out. Thanks!
