Logging GM IAT on SD wired to MAF harness

Ok, I never use the GM IAT on the SD patches, I prefer the fuel temp sensor personally. I am trying to help a friend via email figure out whether or not he has his SD setup properly with the GM IAT wired to the MAF plug.

He is running the phenem pre-patched 94171715 rom

IAT Sensor Option is set to 0x03

My question is what exactly is he supposed to be logging in evoscan with the GM IAT in this location?

MUT3A, MUT11, MUT09?

What eval formula is correct for whichever location?

I just wanna be certain that he is getting the proper readings.

Thanks fellas.

I hate to tell you but the SD IAT scaling he gave you is the scaling for the stock MAF IAT sensor, unless I missed something. BTW, that thread is a mess with the exact details to which evoscan formula worked for you. Would you mind just telling me what you are using?

If anyone else can chime in as well, that would be helpful to see what others are using. Just to be certain.

You missed something. Those guys were all aware of what was going on, the SD Spoolin up harness, gmiat, etc, they all realized tha and offered that the formula is the same as stock. This is what lead me to chase down a bad sensor, after not knowing wtf was going on with my car.. I had been tuning wtih a stagnet sensor for the whole summer and into winter!

Sorry for the scatter, but you need to use MUT11, since that is the parameter used for fueling, and eval is identical to stock coming in with 1.8*x-40 putting out *F.

Again, have him "check" before he even starts the car. That is the best way to line things up. There is different scaling for the same sensor floating around, I havent tested every one of them. I am going to go to the fuel temp as my temp in my own SD car for now.. However I will be logging IAT via uicp for other things.

Thanks. Have you compared the scaling Donnor posted for you to a stock 94170015 rom yet? It's identical from what I could see.

No I havent. I really wish I could, but are you referencing the two roms that are in that thread? I did never go back to my original after Donner updated it. However, the original was the one pulled from the 3dSD thread which noted that all roms had updated scaling. So in summary, I have no damn clue!

PS on a car you have setup with fuel temp used for SD IAT, do log mut11 and use the 1.8*x-40 and see how close a warmed up car is to ambient. I would think that mut11 would posess the temperature used for fueling no matter the origin. Ill be giving that a shot once I get back to my car running.

It should not be stock scaling, it is the one used in sd2.0 roms and is scaled for GM sensor. Anyway will take another look.

By stock was he referring to the off the shelf scaling in that rom on an original 2dSD rom vs the off the shelf in 3dsd vs the one you updated for me in that original post... or atleast thats how I took it.

No, by stock I mean...stock IAT sensor in the MAF scaling. Like, same scaling as a MAF rom. I may be wrong but that's what it looked like to me.

The owner of the car cannot use the fuel temp sensor because his is no longer in the car. It has an aftermarket fuel system and doesn't utilize and stock fuel components or tank.
