How do I tune with EcuFlash then write files with EvoScan?
try using EvoScan to read the ECU and confirm that it uploaded the map correctly. If it did, then upload the new map (one downloaded from EvoScan) which will ensure you are uplaoding a good HEX file.
If the car still doesnt start, then it is the map which needs adjusting

I have the same problem, I have an older cable and I can't use ecuflash 1.42, with the hack I can go up to 1.38, the problem is like somene else said, licence, if you had a valid licence you could get the cable to work, but evoscan should work for read and write(2.8 and up), if you notice on ecuflash you could save the file as .hex or .bin so I do not see any problem, I will be doing this soon so I just will update how it when, but it should work just fine.

os now you know that you can flash with EvoScan. If the car is still not starting, the issue is the map.
though now that you have the initial things sorted, you should be able to get your tuner to sort the rest out.
cheers
