Hello guys. I have some questions because i cant find the answer anywhere and now i'm confused and i need a help!!!

Firtsly, some infos about my car (evo 9 - rom 88840017). My car is reflashed from another tuner and he put tephra v7 to my car.
I start to do some logs and i saw too many knocks and i create some now maps a little more rich with less ignition timing.
So now i have some question.

1)when i read my rom i read a hex file only(or and xml file)?
2)when i read my rom i cant see tephra mods!
3)i want to write back my new hex file. So if i write back my hex file, i will lost my
tephra mods?
4)when i will write my hex file back to my car,i am also writing and the xml file(stock with no tephra) from ecuflash?
5)how i can read my tephra mods with ecuflash or evoscan?(i dont have his tephra
xml file)
6)which program is right to write back my new tune hex file and keep my tephra mods (ecuflash or evoscan)?

Go to the tephra thread and download the XML file that goes with your rom. You can use evoscan or ecuflash to read and write the ecu.

If you read my question you will see that I want to write a new hex file and keep the tephra, how I can read my tephra setting from my tuner,...?

if you have the correct xml file v7 you will be able see the tephra mods in ecuflash when you download the tuned rom then edit that as you need to and flash it back

 

if i dont have the correct v7 xml file(bcoz i dont have it)?
now i open the hex file with the original xml file!

 

then you wont be able see the mods

Now when read my hex file i can see all the tables!
If i had the correct xml file i could see the tephra mods?
Do you know any way to read my xml file from my ecu?

xml or definition file is what allows you to see the hex file in ecuflash . it converts whats in the hex to allow us to view it


xml files are saved to rommetdata in ecuflash


if you look in your laptop my computer/C;/ program files/ open ecu/ecuflash/ rommetdata /evo you will see all the xml files you have , when you download ecuflash it already has some xml files in there but not the v7 or modified ones.
