First post, I bought an Evo IX used and was told it had an ECU flash on it. What all am I going to need to get to be able to access and edit the ECU?

A tactrix cable, ecuFlash and evoScan. (both are software).

That is if you know what you're doing. If you don't, find a local tuner.

 

Don't bother if your asking this question. Seriously you will blow your motor up. You are playing with fire.

 

What type of program would I want if I wanted to tune out an 02 sensor from throwing a code?

 

First you would want an internet browser in order to read the important threads in this section before trying to mess around with your ECU.

Then you would need ecuflash.

Rear or front o2 sensor?

seriously though. you need to go into the stickies and be prepared to have you mind blown at all the reading you are going to need to do before even thinking of flashing your ecu. i also suggest getting on youtube and searching for "how to tune an evo" the guys name on there and on here is r3compil3. i also suggest you search for merlins guide to tuning an evo. its a very large pdf that covers a ton of information. thats about all that we can spoon feed you. the other stuff your going to have to learn on your own. best of luck to you and dont get ahead of yourself.

 

All the r3compile videos are in the sticky threads. Watch those and then after that watch them again. Then after that watch them again.
