Low load values
Low load values
I have been searching and cant figure out what would cause my load values to be hitting like 14 and I am hitting like 23/24 lbs boost. Where would be the best place to start looking to figure it out?
is that a typo? did you mean 140 or was you right by saying 14? also load is not determined by the boost level but it kind of is. by that i mean if your at 23-24psi dont expect to see 230-240 load because alot of other factors play a role in calculating load.
i would start by comparing the equation in your evoscan load table to see if it is correct and then see if you have the right address in your mut table to log load and make sure it matches in evoscan.
i recently had a problem with load values being way too high. come to find out it was the apexi safc i still had on the car and never zeroed out the settings in it. if you have any kind of device messing with maf readings it will cause load values to be incorrect. for example if i had very large injectors and was taking fuel out with my apexi unit it would probable read very low load due to the device actually changing the maf readings before the ecu could interpret them and relay them to ecuflash.

I meant 140 lol. Even at idle though its in the negatives. Its just every log I have seen on here if they do the load/10 it roughly follows boost only a little bit higher. Like if I was making 23 lbs of boost I would expect to see loads at lease over 200. You know what I mean?.
Part of the problem too is I don't know exactly what all was done to the car as I bought it from a shady dealership and it already has a bunch of mods done to it. I am using mitsulogger and where it says injector scaling I put in what is in the tune(which is 552) which brought it up a little, but the loads still have to be way off because it knocks like crazy and timing seems crazy and I am new to tuning. from 6200RPM to 7400RPM the load drops from 128 to 97 and timing goes from 10 to 17. This is also something new that I don't believe happened before and I didn't touch the maps. I did install meagan racing headers and o2 pipe though.
The ROM that is on it currently is just the stock one (94170008) would mitsulogger be pointing somewhere wrong? I have to use my wife's laptop to physically check with mitsulogger and shes doing school work at the moment. There's also no MUT table in the ROM thats currently flashed would that be a problem?

Ah I figured something out for my logs at least...for some reason mitsulogger thinks my injector latency is 6.009 which is throwing off the load calculation. Now to figure out why its thinking that.
you have to physically write in the mut table for you to be able to see it in the rom. the threads for the tables and scales you need to copy into the rom are so old it is impossible to find the correct stuff. it took me about a week to find the definitions to write into my xml to get the mut table and 2 byte load, rpm, and airflow. i also did not find them on this site but on an eclipse site. if you need them i will be more than happy to give you the correct definitions to copy into the rom to get the mut table and 2 byte load, rpm, and airflow jlmk because im on 94170008 as well.
for the injector latency, that should be scaling related. i too had a problem with that using evoscan. if the previous owner had larger injectors installed than what is currently in the vehicle and took them out without changing the scaling it will throw that off.
do you have merlins guide to tuning an evo pdf downloaded on your computer? if not you will need it. it pretty much covers alot of stuff including scaling your injectors.

GOT IT! Wasn't logging battery...LOL. In turn it wasn't calculating Latency correctly and that in turn was throwing off the Load calculation. Now to try and log it again and hope for proper numbers and see why its knocking...
Edit: I dont currently have it downloaded but have read it and watched recompiled's videos.
