ECU boost users - Do you want a higher boost cut load?

I've got a customer who is consistently pushing loads that are beyond the 319 max value in the boost cut load table. I didn't like the idea of increasing the delay time to avoid boost cut, so I've figured out a simple way to double the boost cut load max possible value to 638. I'll be using this on my customer's car, but I'm wondering if this is something people would like to see for general release as a simple DIY ECUFlash-based mod?

Mod has been posted:

I like the idea. It would be a great protection especially for people who might go fooling with boost and go blow up their car cause I didn't tune it for x amount of boost.

Definitely. I don't think you can ever be too safe. Especially when it comes to risking a blown engine.

I'd like a bdel table that went past 159.x
that would make things a bit easier as well.

You can raise your BCLO to say 200, and set your BDELS whatever you need, so you can get higher than 159 + 100 = 260 load, and it also makes it easier to do the math....

I personally wouldnt need it, due to using 2byteload (temp + baro), but Im sure there are many others using 1byteload, w/ big boy set ups, that exceed the 319 limit. Im sure they would love to be able to utilize the boost cut feature....

It does, you can add as much as you want to it with the boost adder.

MrFred, I wouldn't find this particularly useful. I feel like that "feature" can cause damage of it's own. By all means if the masses want it though.

I tend to agree with this. When I first got my fp green I was hitting boost cut at 2500 rpms in second gear I thought it was a fuel problem at first because it almost felt like a backfire.

Not sure what you mean. For people with ECU boost control hitting more than 318 load, the only other option would be to set the boost cut delay to 1 bizillion seconds. By increasing the range of boost cut load values, the system can be used as it was intended.

I'd be interested, but am curious as to why it would only work if your using the ecu to control boost and not an aftermarket boost controller ???

Does the load limit system work by cutting fuel? If yes, then it would be applicable for any boost control scheme (ECU-based, aftermarket, or MBC).

Yes it does still fuel cut at the boost limit.
