Can no longer read/write to ecu, logging works fine car runs great
So seeing as it is spring and the roads are clear I started working on my tune again. To my surprise I can no longer read or write to the ecu with Ecuflash or Evoscan. Evoscan logs just fine and the car runs great. I am using the 1.3u cable and the cable has been sitting in the car since I parked it in fall so it hasn't been damaged or anything like that. My battery voltage is 13v and I put the car on a charger just to make sure but after a couple hours its still a no go.
Trying to find someone in my local area to use their cable to confirm if mine is just dead or not. The laptop I am using runs windows vista, I upgraded to the latest version of ecuflash and tactrix drivers but its still a no go. The error I am getting is the "no response to any known code". I searched most of this afternoon but didn't find a thread that actually had a resolution besides having a low battery charge and mine is fine. A couple posts did point out that it could be the cable....do they just die like that?
Also I'm very certain the ECU is not locked since the only maps on the car have been mine.

In ECU Flash, does the Tactrix 1.3u show up in the lower right corner when plugged into the car?
Could possibly be a USB issues and or Cable.
I have flashed over 200 times myself and the ECU is still read/write.

Shows up fine in ecuflash, the cable works while logging in Evoscan also. I've tried 3 different USB ports. Just seems like it spontaneously stopped working over the winter. I already ordered a replacement so we shall see. I'm fairly certain its the cable but I don't have a spare to test until the new one arrives.
What version of EcuFlash are you using? My 1.3u only reads/writes with version 1.29 or older so I use 1.42 with Tephra V7 for tuning the maps(as Tephra only works with newer versions) and use EvoScan 2.8 to read/write maps and have had no issues.
The new cable should be here tomorrow, I'm thinking I may just be one of the unlucky few who's cable took a crap. Car runs too good to have anything wrong with it

Hmm. I remeber trying it and it didn't work. Do you use EvoScan or ECUflash for flashing? I will try it again. I am going to try the Tephra v7 94170715 ROM in place of my current ROM like we were talking about in my thread.
Jay no homo but I have to say, that I am gaining more respect for you coming on here and helping people out instead of simply bragging on your tuning skills (like others do constantly).
If I ever need a tuner I know who to call.
Make sure that you have you user account control turned off when putting that v7 rom in. Sometimes it can give you troubles.
