Noob, need help

So I purchased EVOscan and i can't get it to work. I'm using the Tactrix 2.0 cable and Dell laptop with OS XP. When I plug everything in, turn the key to on, and try to run the DTC option I get:

Not sure what the issue is. Can anyone offer some advice?

For whatever reason I've never been able to get my DTC checks to work in Evoscan. I always get an error. Can you get it to connect and log?

I clicked the star log and nothing happened there. A buddy thinks maybe the drivers for the EVOscan are not installed so I'm going to check that out after work.

Set the drop down at the bottom of your pic to "MUTIII EFI" and check/clear while the car is running. Just noticed that your drop down definitely says Evo 7/8/9, but Im fairly certain MUTIII EFI works for me. Im also using an older version of evoscan....

Even then, it still takes a few tries sometimes.
