I saw that on one of the AMS cars in Gaithersburg...I wonder if they're thinking about producing them.

yes, Dan@AMStuning and I deceided that these NACA ducts would do the job well, and they do!. Dan got them installed w/the crash bar in place and he figured out a way to get clearance past the oil cooler. Last year on track days I had major problems with the brake temps... not now

Is there a reason to cut through the bumper like that rather than just use the opening that already exists?

Depending on how you routed the hoses, that positioning won't work on ACD equipped EVO's. It's something I have been battling as well. Trying to get full 3" ducting with the straightest and shortest possible routing.

however, great idea with the naca ducts!

I did what Warrtalon did, but I have a IX so my drivers side ducting is a little over to the left cause of the acd, no point in cutting up your bumper.

correct, but if you wanted better airflow, you could actually block some of that lower air off, and get rid of the brick like aero that the evo has.

you will flow more air, with less drag with the duct, thats fact.

Sorry, just saw the VIII bumper and forgot about the 05 part, the IX bumper doesn't have as much room as the VIII. That must have been a tight fit.

Is this the brake duct kit offered by AMS? And are those silver visible portions included with it?

I am very interested in getting a kit like this.

Review: Forge's Brake Duct Cooling Kit (BDCK)

Came with everything _except_ the silver inlets. I got those for a few bucks from an aircraft supply company.

Ok...that looks like a great package. I'll need a kit like that for when my car is set up for road racing. By the way, I really do like the look of the silver inlets.
