Looking for tune input (logs, maps, vd, etc inside)
remounted BCS, also pulled the plugs to check gap. Found one plug that was clean unlike the other 3 sooty ones.
Which lead me to creating this thread.

Im running a 1/2 tank with lucas inj cleaner and I'll pull them and check again. Not sure if its connected to some of the issues Im experiencing with tuning.
Left the gap alone. We will see in a few days.

Maybe its overshooting because your WGDC is staying pegged too late (200 load) I recently had a spark blowout issue with iridiums at .026 on a 30r at 30 psi. dropped them to .022 and cured the issue. I doubt thats your issue, but its worth a quick test.
Did you try richening it up where its noisy around 5500-6500 and maybe leaning it out up top 6500-out? It looks a little too fat out the top

Still seem to be having issues richening it up around 6-6.5k. Ive added VE in this area, but the curve is still the same as before making the change. My IDC is in the 90s. But it has no problem richening up past 6500 when IDC is higher. Needless to say Im getting really close to maxing out this setup. I just want to make the fuel curve nice and smooth and Im done.
Not sure if this can help or if it´s even possible but maybe with a SD setup you could still use the MAF smoothing/compensation table to adjust afr, you´d need to log MAF Hz (which will be a calculated value if available) and take a look at your lean spot, then go up the log about 0.4 seconds and see what Hz it´s at and increase the smoothing/compensation value for it.
I havent had a chance to do any logging lately but I made some changes to my VE and timing maps that I believe have cured my shift knock. Ive hammered on it several times over the last couple days with no sign of knock in between shifts. It woud hit 10+ counts when I shifted hard. Also made more VE changes to the 6k area. But I'll need to log that to see if it made a change. She pulls great. 110k miles and the best its ever been, at least in the last 70k that Ive owned it.
Im really tempted to start messing with Lean Spool. But I really want to get past this step of the process before adding more variables.

Do you have lean spool enabled right now? Also, put your gap at .22. You may not be having any issues at the moment but you'd be amazed how much of a difference there is with a tighter spark. Bump your timing up at peak torque and try to get to about 11-13* by redline.
Lean Spool has been disabled until today. And I must say it is the SHIZZ. Ive got it set up for .5 leaner from 10.0-11.5, then taper to 1:1 by 13.0. I have never felt 1st and 2nd pull this hard before. After a couple 3rd gear pulls to make sure it was safe, I attempted a quick 1-2-3. Hit 2nd so hard it broke the heat sheild off the cat. Scared the **** outta me and I backed out. I hoping that has been the source of some knock Ive been seeing. Time will tell.
Made some VE changes from 5500-6500 that slightly improved the fuel curve. And just made another slight change that will get testing in the AM. But it is definitely overall smoother than it was, not sure if its the slight fuel map adjustments I made for LS or LS itself.
Mercenaryx2, are you suggesting that a tighter spark will let me run a bit more timing? I am around 11 at 7500. But 1 or so at pk torque. Its on the edge of knock as it is. And remember...this is 91 craptane. 93 has been popping up here lately, just not convenient yet. I check regularly at all stations on my 30 min commute.

Im still in open loop. <100 is close. It swings between 14.6-15.0 at cruise and mostly follows my fuel map into boost. That was before turning on LS, though. We will see if it will take more timing later. Right now Im just happy to have a break from seeing that knocklight and feeling it fall on its face when it drops boost due to knock.
really hoping that heat sheild has been the source of some phantom knock. Id love to be able to add more timing.

Im going to close the gap some. I blew it out a bit this morning. And yesterday I saw a quick lean spike at pk boost that may have also been blowout.
My 2nd ve changes are almost good enough. One more tweak and I think its good to go.
But man.....this thing has never felt so good.
In case I didnt stress enough in earlier posts, Lean Spool is the ****!

oh brother....I just found out that Ive been logging 1byte with the wrong formula for the last month. lol
I did a quick calc in one of my logs to convert 1.2 to 1.3 and the only places that 1byte does not match kpa is where I need to make fueling adjustments. This is what I was hoping I would see when I started getting close on the VE map. But it wasnt happening, so I figure it just was what it was. Now its pretty much dead nuts everywhere that my WB gets close to AFRMAP.
Now Im thinking that my "blowout" may have been slight fuel cut. Its instant and just comes right back into boost. Ive felt fuel cut before and its nothing that severe, so I dunno. FWIW, I was hitting a pk of 291 @ 3400, and my fuel cut table is set to 286.
and my duration timer was set to 20000ms. wtf...

Since I found out I was targetting 1-2* less than I wanted accross the board, I went ahead and added it back in. 1st pull hit 8cts of knock at 6k. The next 3 had none. And initial graphs show a slight increase in power. Im going to change the timing ramp rate around 6k just a little and see if its more consistent. If that was 3cts I saw, I wouldnt even bother. But fueling is 99% good now. I just need to find a nice flat road to see if I can match or beat the graphs I posted earlier. My "normal" 4th gear pull spot is a slight uphill incline. So #s are typically a little lower, but its still a good place to compare changes.
