Cams + Im : timing +afr

Im having a fairly hard time setting my timing and afr under low boost like 90-150 load or up to 7 psi under 4000 rpm or so. With s2 cams and a skunk 2 stm ported im. How should my afrs look up to about 7 psi at sub 4000 rpms? Ive tried leaner richer more and less timing it seems like I haven't found the right combination. I have gsc ti retainers and springs with the cams.. Mivec too

Post up a map and some logs Also what turbo? Some setups you can lean into a little harder then others ie t3 vs stock frame setup.

what is giving you a hard time? Is it knocking? Or just sluggish?

Add timing if reducing timing doesn't make the knock sensor happy.

Just my own experience, but if you chase the knock sensor when the motor isn't showing any real signs of detonation, it's just going to end in a crappy tune. If backing off the timing doesn't reduce the knock count or actually makes it worse, it's not real detonation.

I messed with the knock filter tables trying to get rid of what I thought was false knock due to a noisy twin disc clutch. I fianlly just added some timing and everything cleaned right up and it made the car mean under part load. I ended up with only a mild change to the knock filters and then reaching MBT at lower loads.

Something else related to the cams though, I noticed changing cam timing actually was enough to trigger knock detection in some cases.

Either way though, if it's sluggish, it needs more timing. The EVO motor can be run pretty damn aggressive at lower loads.

I've tried increasing a degree or two , but I've pulled way more than I've tried to add. Really I was shooting for low 12s at low boost, and I think that may be too rich. If I could settle on an afr number to target that was proper it might help. My sd tune fuel map reflects actual afr which I will post later. I will try adding more timing than originally I started with. I have been fighting this cam and intake manifold upgrade since I installed it 3 months ago lol. Making power seems to be easy but part load tricky. Do you think a leaking bov at part load hinders performance? Greddy type s... Single spring mod.. I'll add the other spring just to be sure. I noticed knock before on my txs rfl when I had it sprung lightly.

6 is where im at, getting a 3-4 knock count 2500+ rpm range. 7 is how Im gonna try to fix that. i know it changed a lot of cells in the area, but I try to keep it smooth. knocks were happening at just under boost. map 5 which Iwill not post cause its already overwritten was extremely low timing and sluggish. im still closed loop when im getting these knocks on map 6. Sorry for the confusion. Didnt log on the way home because the knock light was on so much less and I could drive the car so Im going the right direction. I will update. I also need to dial my target AFR in.

HELP my car is going to blow up at .6 psi of boost! Some how this has got to be false? or is my timing crazy off? I really am losing hope , chasing this around like mad.

One thing to note is my front narowband sensor has a heater circuit fault. Its a fix in the works, but i have my doubts of its contribution to the knock of this severity.

Car feels amazingly zippy still get a lot of light accelleration knock 3k rpm. I increases timing since map 7

Knocking at stoich in cl roughly 90-100 load still

Serial gauge reads 15.0

If you are concerned about engine damage, check the plugs.
