So, got my fuel trims back, now questioning my tune

First up, I'm self-tuned and I come from DSMLink which is quite a bit different than ECUFlash/EVOScan. The concepts are certainly similar but just the dissimilarities in the cars themselves has been quite the learning curve.

So, basically by accident tonight, I discovered all of my trims were not reading, just STFT. I've remedied that since I have V7 but have not begun to tune those items yet. I have 1250's scaled to 1170. I can post my latencies if necessary. I've only been tuning my latencies based on idle at this point. STFT is +/- 1% so I feel like they're likely close, but I won't know more until tomorrow.

Now, my actual question - I've seen leaner AFRs than my High Octane fuel map is calling for so to compensate, I've been taking a page out of my old DSM playbook and have been tuning the MAF to compensate. That has worked, but it doesn't produce quite as stable an AFR as I'd like. So, my question is, given that I have an 84MM cover and an Injen intake pipe, should I even need any MAF compensation? I'm of the mind that I should not, but what I don't want to have happen is to go back to stock scaling and have lean AFRs like crazy again. So, at a basic level, should I need to scale my MAF given my intake tract?

Many thanks, this forum has been an indispensable source of knowledge, I learn something (usually somethingS) new every day.

Got some good 30 minutes of highway cruising in this morning. MID is sitting at .7. So I think that's good, it was actually at .19 for most of the trip. I was able to idle for about 6 minutes afterward and my LOW is up around 3 right now, not sure what's up with that. I did reset maf comp to stock before the trip as well.

The values in the fuel map are not actual afr's, they are more like a representation of injector pulsewidth. You can get them close to actual afr by using maf comp, but they will be off on either end.
Most people just tune with them as is and lower or higher the number based on what they are reading on the wideband.
