Pls advise my water/meth tune map...

Hi,
hope someone could advise me on my current tune map and hope i could still squeeze little more hp & torque out of it.
Boost : 1.5bar spike to 1.55bar

There some power drop on my 4th to 5th gears up shifting transition.
Which load cell should i increase some timing?

P.S - I believed the hp shown on the chart is incorrect as i dont think i could achieved such power by boosting 1.5bar.
GT3076R
S2 Cams
85.5mm pistons
Please advise.

Thanks

It would probably help to not have such huge jumps in timing. You go from 12*-13* to 4*.

Yeah, your timing map needs a lotta work.

What ratio of meth to water are you using? Why don't you post a couple of logs, I'm guessing that it should take more timing with water/meth.
1.5 bar only!! What's the point? A stock Evo could defeat you! 3076 + water/meth, I'd go for at least 2-2.2bar.

Hi just wonder that i felt my car seems wont ign retard after some knocks (3~6)?
Will this possible? Usually when there's knocks there's misfire sound as the ign is retarding...
Pls advise

When the timing is retarded you shouldn't feel or hear a misfire, unless there is actually a misfire. If you're misfiring that is a whole separate issue from timing/knocking under boost. If you have enough room between your high octane and low octane maps, when it interpolates between them in the occurence of knock, it should show the drop in timing and a slight richening in afr, and you shouldn't hear anything out the tailpipe. The only time you should get anything audible is if you're using det cans to detect knock.

Those log files don't contain wideband!! Include AFR & load 2byte & make a few good logs. What % water to meth are you using? Your timing figures don't look aggressive enough for water/meth.

Ive not replace my faulty serial cable for my wb logging...
50%-50% w/meth
But i still gets knocks on Load 196 at 4500-5500 rpms while WOT...
(5-7 knocks)
AFR WOT til redline 11~11.4
91 Octane Pump Gas

This maps looks very blocky and not enough agressive for meth...
Quick timing jumps will cause knock.

-Start by logging only what is needed. You'll get more resolution (logs per second) and it will be easier to work.

- Your log doesn't show WOT AFR but it should be stable between 11:1 and 12:1, depending on temperature, octane level, application.

-At high RPM, you should be able to run more timing than that.

-I learned when tuning a friend's Evo 1 that his 4g63 like less timing at mid range and more up top so I worked ramping up his timing faster than a VIII or IX. You should find what timing ramp your Evo V engine likes. It takes time.

-I just took a little 20 minutes to mess with your map, to show you what smooth is. This is what you're after. DO NOT consider this map tuned but keep this shape and smoothness in mind.

Smoothed example

I consider this map conservative for your application. I'm not saying that you should run this, but your timing at high RPM will probably end up higher than this without knock. Work your own map while logging.

Good luck!

OMG...Thank you so much Domyz
Btw, do you know which timing area should i adjust for my 4th to 5th gear power drop while up shifting?

Thanks
