can't go pass 14psi with grimspeed...
Hey Guys, since winter has hit I wanted to switch from MBC to ecu controlled boost.
With my MBC I was hitting 29-30psi all day on my evo 8 and could adjust it.
Now I went to the grimspeed solenoid and I cant get past 14psi no matter what I try. I am currently using the tephra v7 rom. I tripled checked to make sure I hooked up the grimspeed correctly, port 1 going to intake manifold, port 2 going to wastegate and port 3 going to nipple on j-pipe. I went ahead and also replaced the vacuum lines.
On to the tuning aspect, at first all I did was change all the values on the BEC tables to 0. Then went to my main wastegate duty table and all the values 50. I started off the run in 3rd gear and hit only 14psi. I went ahead and changed the values to 80 and still hit only 14psi. At that point I knew something is off...I went ahead and changed all the values to 100 jut to see if it made a difference and nothing.
I changed the boost adder (psi) tale to 14.7 to see if that would do anything but still nothing.
I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Two days ago I was running 29psi, only thing I changed was MBC to grimspeed .
Am I configuring something wrong in ecuflash? Maybe the grimspeed solenoid is bad??
Any advice?

Port 3 should go to the J-pipe nipple, Port 2 should go to the wastegate, and Port 1 should be vented to atmosphere or routed into the intake pipe instead of the intake manifold.

Yes I hope that port 1 into the intake manifold is a typo 
Your ROM looks ok.
Try dropping the "WGDC 100% under this load" to 0 and listen to it at 50% you should hear clicking. This will avoid you some electrical tests. I'd bet it's a mechanical problem.

sorry , I'm an idiot! Got it to work. Thanks domyz for all your help.
Just to make sure I got this figured out correctly, this is the approach im taking..
I set all the values in the BEC to 0 then I will start working with my main map wastegate duty to get the psi I want. This I will measure by looking at the boost gauge and checking the value. Is there a way to do this through evoscan or a better technqiue then this?
Domyz- i know you told me about the WGDC and the values there, do I go off of that and use those values to set the main map wastegate duty values?
Also when do I or should I start messing with the Boost Desired Engine 'PSI" table??

Couple things.
You should zero out the upward correction.
Also make sure you have the MAF IAT WGDC corr. zero'd out too. (when tuning)
Next, its best to get a MAP sensor when tuning ECU boost. Also, you have to have a map sensor to run PSI based boost.
Last, make your WGDC limit during fault half of your WGDC used to reach your desired boost. or just put 30%

Sorry I don't know what you mean. If you are refering to WGDC 100% under this load, I suggest you to start with 0 for part throttle drivability. Otherwise the very useful TPS WGDC correction table won't work.
As said by Jay you already should have a omni 4 bar map sensor, or equivalent.
The how-to was very helpful for me and don't hesitate to ask questions we'll help.

You could only set the boost in Main map WGDC while reading your boost gauge, but without any correction it is neither safe nor consistent.
