Need help understanding 2byte load w/ corrections
So as I am learning how to tune my 3-port I ran into a weird issue. I started off my fuel map very very rich for added safety as I slowly work on my boost curve. I am target 270, and thought I had my wgdc all set as I was able to repeat results for 4 consecutive pulls with no boost correction. At this point I am logging standard 2-byte load. I added the the boost error correction to the rom based on an example of mrfred's. Boost curve results repeated again for 3 consecutive pulls. Now here is where it gets funky....
As I began to lean out the map to what it was prior to the 3-port, I begin to see higher peak boost on a consistent basis. I know now that I should be logging 2-byte with baro/iat compensation (oversight on my part) to be more accurate, but my question is.....
How do the corrections affect load, and how does the ecu apply them?
Be gentle with me
. I have searched to no end and just can't find the answers I am looking for. I am the type of person that not only wants to know that something works, but also how it does, why it does, and anyother contributing factors to the operation of the object I am learning.
I appreciate any and all information on this.
Thank you
