re: ecuflash evo7 ecu

hi all I m having an issue with the ecu flash, flashing an evo
7 ecu trying to modify the fuel map.
I have several questions to ask
Which graph shall i use? low or high octane? I am using normal octane fuel
how does the ECU recognise which map is active or deactive ?
I varied the low and also the high fuel map but no result on the dyno was
effecting
Only when i varied the 1000-1500 range effected the engine. (i made it too lean just to test it and the engine did not start at all, so the ecu is programing good)

If someone can help me i will be more than happy, because today I went on a dyno test bench and I paid money for no advance in bhp :/

Take a look into this thread and it will help you learn how to tune.

It uses the high octane fuel and timing maps until ecu sees a certain amount of knock then it looks up low octane fuel and timng maps

my result graph was after 3500rpm, getting richer till 8000rpms....final 10:1 AFR. The fuel map was leaned to a pont that the AFR reading should be almost 12:0 but this did not happen.
Could it be that I am using an Air flow sensor of an Evo3 gsr engine?
The ECU plugged in is that of an evo7......do they match or shall i replace it with an evo7 oem one? (I am running it at 18psi)

regards

The AFR number in the map is an arbitrary number, it does not actually stand for the actual AFR the car is running. You must have a wideband to tune the fueling as to not be too rich or too lean.

I have yes a wideband AFR meter and i am using in too.
The problem is that on dyno tuning even with a sofisticated wideband meter and also the same results came out.

Could it be that the MAF sensor is maxing out when using high boost? (18psi)

regards

I put the evo7 560cc pink ones

Is there a specified MAF sensor for an evo7 ecu? or they all match?

no you dont ,it will work perfectly well with the evo3 maf thats is of course if it is scaled correctly . what do you have in ecuflash for maf size and what are the maf scalings

as I've understand you have evo 7 ecu in evo 3 ?
there should be no problem running 3's MAF
just scale maf/injectors properly and you'll be good
