On this setup i need to connect the gm 3 port to brown plug or black plug?

 

the shown diagram I believe is incorrect - the MBC outlet needs to go to the centre port on the 3-port.

 

How does the boost drop on knock work with this setup?

 

My tuner tried to do this with no success, car was overboosting

 

The boost must travel through a port to port connection that is normally closed. Ie allowing air to pass. Then wgdc gets added to divert air from the wg.

 

I was planning on doing a detailed write up on this when I finished getting things all worked out but I'll try to just briefly share my experience and thoughts on this so far. I am by no means a professional so you can take my methods with a grain of salt but here is what I did.

1.) Here is I how ran the lines- J-pipe to MBC inlet, MBC outlet to 3 port inlet, 3 port outlet to WGA. (Note: I left the 3rd port connected to the intake.)
2.) Zero'd out WGDC and BEC tables.
3.) Set initial boost with MBC.
4.) Added WGDC in small increments (about 5-10% at a time) to control the areas where boost starts to taper with the MBC. i.e. Setting WGDC table to 20% from 5K and up added about 1 psi for me in that range.

Having said all of that, so far I have yet to see any real advantage to running the hybrid setup vs. just the 3 port on my car. I'm not saying that there aren't advantages to a hybrid setup on other setups (i.e. larger turbos), I just haven't seen any advantage on my setup yet. Even being able to hold more boost from 5K and up did not yield any more gains for me because I pretty much already had the boost my car likes maxed out with the MBC. More boost only blew more hot air for me. However, I'm also not done with my testing and tinkering, so I haven't completely given up on finding an advantage to a hybrid setup on a stock turbo.

IDK if that helps anyone or not, but I'm happy to hear your thoughts and constructive criticism.

I tested it for a month or so, a couple months ago. I found that I would rather just go with a 3port alone.

 

I said the same thing a while back and had several "tuners" message me telling me I was wrong and had no clue what I was talking about
