Guys, I was recently tuned for 91 Octane and my mods in my sig. I want to save the ROM from my tune, so I can have it in case anything ever happens. Just as I have my Mellon hex files for 93 Octane. Today when I went to read my ecu and saved the file, it saved it as a bin. file. I save the ROM file in a folder, and noticed the extension is bin. Can this bin file be uploaded/WRITE to my ECU the same way my other HEX files upload/ write to ECU? Any advice?

Yes it'll work fine, all my roms are .bin files.

 

Well I just tried to see if my ECUFLASH can read the file and it gave me the no definition error message

 

Get the romid and download the appropriate xml definitions for it from this section. Most likely a tephra v7 rom.

 

I think it is a Tephra since i the set up where if I knock between certain counts SES light will flash slowly or quickly, two step mod and some other things according to the tuner. Sound familiar for Tephra?

 

Yea that's Tephra. Check the Tephra v7 thread and there are download links for all the xmls.
