HELP! Can't read Evo IX rom
HELP! Can't read Evo IX rom
Ok, so I've read all I can find and still can't figure out why ecu flash won't read my rom.
I have a USDM evo 9 that is on a stock map (the updated recall map from last year)
I'm using a brand new 1.3U cable, Evoscan v2.9, Ecuflash v1.44. The drivers have been installed and the cable connects via evoscan for logging purposes only it will not read the image via Evoscan or Ecuflash.
I talked to my area tuning guru and he says the ROM ID of the update should be 88590017 which there is no deffined XML for that I have found. So I duplicated the 88590015 rom (Stock rom) XML and changed the rom ID to 88590017 hopping it would work. Still no luck.
I've also tried running ecu unlocker.
I hit the read ecu button, select the evo 9 option, a dialog box pops up:
Connect the OpenPort interface to the OBDII port,
plug in the OpenPort initialization connector,
turn your ignition to the 'ON' position,
and then press the OK button to continue.
I press ok,

Try to use an older version of ecuflash. Try 1.29. That one worked for me l read it. I don't have the XML file but I got it to read my Ecu at least. I also had Ecu unlocked running in the background.
Also make sure your voltage is good. I had mine plugged in to a battery charger while I read it.

It says I'm running 96930011
That's what the identifier says.
I read that with evoscan. But idk if get is right. From what I read that's an Evo VIII identifier and I have an Evo IX like you.
I had no problem with evoscan reading my Ecu.
The problem I have is openin it in ecuflash. I always get the setup rom window

Here's the file. Can anyone else read it? All I really need from it is my engine immobilizer and the ROM ID would be nice to know for reference sake.
