Idle Tuning
Idle Tuning
I have an 05 MR, I am using ROMID=96940011
The car has FIC 1050's, along with GSC S2's
Forgive me as I am new to this,
I have adjusted the BISS correctly, and I can get the car to idle where I want it around 1000 RPMS with the A/C off. The problem that I am running into is when I switch the A/C on, the car really wants to stall, and sometimes does.
I have tried adjusting Desired Idle RPM-with AC on, with some luck, Currently I have it set to idle at 1300 with the A/C on.
I have also adjusted the Desired ISCV initial step position with AC on. In the 77 and 82 temp rows I have tried values anywhere from 50 to 150.
My ignition Timing is 9 degrees at 1000 RPMS from 10-50 Load.
I am trying to keep the lope , but I also am trying to get the car to idle reliably with the A/C on. I understand If I am unable to have the best of both worlds. I was just wondering if there was anything that I am missing.
Thanks in advance

I can't help with the ISCV table settings but I'd say raise the timing/rpm up and get a smoother idle. Its a PITA if your car stalls out around a turn with the clutch in or in a parking lot. I've also spoken with TRE and he said that a really lopey idle is hard on the transmission. I'm not sure why but I would believe him since he has rebuilt alot of transmissions.

Thanks for your response. But raising the idle stability timing control limit allowed the motor to catch itself.
Set the Idle Stability Timing Control table to 3 in the timing limit, and set your idle timing to 15*. You'll still lope and wont have to worry about stalling. Those are the settings I run with my car on S2's. Rock solid 1k idle.
