Launch control, detonation, and spark plug failures

So I went to IFO this weekend and had a total of 3 spark plug failures. I believe this is from detonation while on 2 step. I have never had a failure any other time and my launch control has a spot of 11 counts of knock. I have tried changing timing and fuel and the spot will not go away. Currently on -6* timing, AFR is roughly 10.5, and RPM is 6000. Any advice on how to get the knock down so im not destroying plugs?

Make sure you blend the negative timing zone smoothly into your regular ignition map. I've got mine set at 5000 rpm.

Yeah my transitions are smooth, the bad knock spot I have is while the turbo is spooling. I really need to figure this out so I can actually launch the car and not kill my plugs lol

How fast is your boost spooling up?

I wonder if your load calc isn't unable to keep up.

Check out this thread:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/09...-solution.html

It was topical for Ralliarts, due to their small, fast-spooling turbo.

The tuning item here was "Load Ramp Rate #1".

Also, be aware that having fast logging was crucial to spotting this thing in the first place. Give "RAX Fast Logging" a try, if you haven't already. It's got the key load-calc input items defined and ready to roll.

Hope that helps.
