Evo8 converted ECU into a B4 VW Passat 16v Engine
Evo8 converted ECU into a B4 VW Passat 16v Engine
Well, A few years back I swap my 1g with and 2003 Evo8 ECU and I was pleased with the results, I was in the middle of a build for a friend of mine, he wated something reliable for daily use and using a stand alone system was not a good option, I could use a Motronic ecu, but tuning was going to be a pain in the butt .
So I figured I could use an EVO8 ecu and harness, just like I did on my 1g, the problem was to source one in good shape and price that when the reaserch beging, I came to the conclution I could use an eclipse 3g 2.4 manual transmission ECU and HARNESS then flash the EVO8 Tephra v7 rom as they share the same processor MH8206F
Anyway I purchase a 2002 ecu and harness off a 3g eclipse and started the task for making this happend, first thing was to flash the 3g Eclilpse ecu to the SD tephra v7 , plugged the ecu to my GSX pulled the original rom and flash the new one with out any issued test started everything perfect.
Next step was to adapt the 1g CAS to the VW 16v head , so I build the adapter and started the fun part wiring! got all wires ran and supply voltage to all corresponding wires test started and bam! nice ans smooth as it should be
Now gotta tuck all wires and make it nice!
There are a few wires that need to be added to the ECU pin connector like the Boost Control Solenoid but those pins can be switched around , im using the EVAP wires to use the signals for the boost solenoid..
