I am by no mens a expert in this area, but when I logged my stock evo 8 (perrin filter, samco intake hose, full 3" turboback, stock 8 turbo, 3 port) I was getting 20+ counts of knock in WOT areas specially low load just getting on the gas pedal. When I swapped to my aem dual funnel filter, knocks dropped down to 16 counts and less, not sure what caused the perrin to induce knock, but anyway, after I took away some timing where it was knocking, I richened up the fuel table a bit (not too much since it was on cali 91 oct) and knock dropped to less than 3 counts.

do some research, pull timing where its needed and adjust your fuel map accordingly.

Thanks for the info! I haven't had time to look at this recently as I've been working on my fiance's Magnum R/T, and my 1.8t GTI. But in either case I plan on getting some motor mounts, bigger injectors, switching to a grimmspeed 3 port bcs and probably replacing my old beat up air filter and tuning again.
