Re-write rom after reading?

Re-write rom after reading?

Hello guys new to tuning i just read the rom from my ecu to check the tune on the car but didnt made any changes do i have to re write it to the ecu ??
Or i dont need to anyhelp pleasee

You do not. all you're doing is just downloading the rom as a copy. the original is still there on your ecu.

i suggest watching recompiles youtube series on tuning and reading through Merlin's PDF before doing any changes.

if you still have questions after going over those two, the answer would be in this sub section (unless its some unique issue).

You read it and save as.
What you read is already on ecu.
Now make adjustments and flash to ecu via the red button.

Make sure to save a good known copy of original tune once making adjustments so you have a fall back to tune.

Alot of the adjustments you might wana make may or may not improve your car.

Thank you guys thats what i wanted to hear as far as the changes im good at making them i have taken too many courses but never mentioned that i downloaded as a copy and the file remains in the ecu in all these courses so i wanted to make sure that the file is still there because my rom id is different then my car it says 2005 evo tdm 6 speed and my car is 2003 5 speed usdm so that confused me maybe it had an ecu swap in the past
