Hi all,

I have an Evo V with Evo 8 engine, running evo 7 ecu .

The Mods,

EcU : JDM Evo 7 (4 Plug)
Rom: Internal ID: 94170715
Memory Model: SH7052
Engine : EVO 8
GCS S2 Cams
Supertech Dual Valve springs and Retainers
Billet 20G compressor wheel..
10.5 Evo 6 Exhaust Housing..
Ported Stock O2 Housing.
LICP and UICP
ETS 4” Intercooler
AEM meth Kit (100% meth) 250cc nozzle
Ocatne :91-92
3” straight TBE Custom Local made
Boost 0.9, 1.3 bar and 1.6 bar.

I S S U E.
no matter What I do this knock is always there .. sometimes I have a clean run with no knock counts and some times there are count till to 7 or 6…

The car Seems to knock more in low boost setting, at high boost the knock is low,
some times there is no knock at all, on same boost and timing.
I tried increasing the Timing as well as decreasing it.
my timing was -1 or -2 till 5000 Rpm.
I tried running lean 12 and rich as well 10.2 - 10.5..
nothing seem to help here...
the above timing map is after i Added 2 to 4 deg more timing just to check that I am not getting knock because of very low timing...
I have read many threads but no one had shared there solution ...
If you need anything else please let me know..
I had checked the knock Sensor and its tight.

 

octane 91-92 + meth i guess doesn't bring you to enough octane for that timing map

 

why that rom ,use 90550001 rom or variant of same

Just checked My Ecu stock ROM. and it says Internal ID: 98640014
I have also downloaded Internal ID: 90550001 Non Moded Rom,,

I just want knock Light to work...

Just read few other Threads and found that I can use 9653 for what do you guys say... ?

 

I went through your other posts regarding EVO 7 Ecu and you also suggested 9656. should I try that one..

 

evo 7 ecu i guess you can use tephramod or something.

i have an evo 5 with evo 8 engine too but using evo 5 ecu which i've tuned on ceddymod. cel flashes on knock too.

i think your octane is not enough even with the meth inj. either take timing away or increase octane

 

90550001 is just fine, I was on 98640014 on Evo7 before migrating to 90550001.
Ignore any knock below 100 load, not sure if you can tune down knock sensitivity for load below 100 but my XML on EvoX can do so.
And remember log Octane to check if you are switching to low map.
