Question -20 timing, no pops&bangs

To begin with, car has all supporting mods:
recirc valve, 3" exhaust (no cat, no resonator, only hi flow muffler in the end), full sas hardware (valve, pipes, sas canister/solenoid etc.), enlarged banjo bolts.
It is V, with ceddy rom
-20 timing at 0-40 loads, 2500-6500 rpm
als settings are:

min speed - 24
min rpm - 3000
min load - 80 (tried 100-110)
min coolant - 50
min trigger time - 2
load below which active - 55 (tried 45)
active time limit - 12
delay before air injection - 0.1
delay before fuel injection - 0.1
fuel injection time - 1.2 (tried 2/2.5/3/3.5/4.8 no big difference, so left the lowest tsetting, to not to dump excess fuel in vain)
air injection time -
0.7
1.8
1.8
1.8
2.4
2.4
2.4
2.2
1.7
These too, tried as high as 3 second, but all I get is a quite loud bang at gear changes. No conitnuous crackles or whatsoever on overrun, like it is on regular timing on low loads. (but confirmed via evoscan logs, it does see -20 timing at lift-off)

any ideas ?

Have you confirmed in datalogs you're getting the commanded injection time?

Did you try to feather the throttle? Just a little touch on the paddle should give you the pops and cracks

Yes, confirmed that sas valve opens and fuel injector duty cycle stays high after lift off.

And yes, tried feathering the throttle, but nothing changed. (can't see big point of doing that though, as I already get fuel and air via als settings)

Are you driving the car hard enough to get the manifold and turbine housing hot enough to auto ignite the "exhaust"?

-20 will be a large gunshot sorta sound, try around -10 or -15 with a leaner AFR.
The richer it is the less chance youl get some crackles out of it. need to find the sweet spot. i have found that to be around 15afr.

Okay, if you set launch control with -ve timing, do you get bangs when LC is engaged?

depends whether you have set the real retard limit to -20. what xml are you using?

and yes, for the pops and bangs you need to touch the throttle. SAS settings will only give you a bang, not the continuous ones.
