Logging airflow / MAF diagnostic

Is it possible to diagnose MAF issues by logging the airflow?

I'm getting consistent spikes in my logged airflow at idle

At idle you would expect a consistent airflow reading correct?

What level of change would indicate malfunction ?

It's there a better parameter to log with evoscan?

Hi OzAirtrek

you can diagnose MAF issues by logging Air Flow Hz.
Look at your logs and the reference in excel is Airflow (check evoscan to be sure).

This should be stable at idle dependant on your MAF.
Mine for example was 37.5 at idle.

When my MAF was playing up the value was all over the place. Once I replaced the MAF with another one which was working on another car
it went back to being stable.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Anthony! That confirms what I thought. Time for a new MAF!
