Srf/ROM reading error.

I recently got a new comp and lost all my old files. After installing all the software and pulling the ROM off the car, I am only getting srf and bin files. Then Ecuflash is throwing error "There was an error reading this ROM file. See the message log for details." when trying to open the srf or bin. After reading a lot of threads I believe I do not have the correct xml or it is not updated with tephra correctly. If memory servers I have ROM 88592715 on the ecu. I downloaded that tephra and put it in the evo rommetadata folder. What am I missing? Attached is the read from the ecu.

The goal is be able to keep my current tune and add the code to disable the egr valve/system.

Thank you for the help.

I think you're just missing an XML file related to 88592715. A quick check at the hex address range confirms that ID is set correctly, so ECUFlash just can't find an XML file to parse it with. ECUFlash will go through the mitsubishi evo folder and check for the first file name to contain that number, so you probably don't have anything with 88592715.

I think you are correct. The only thing I have is the tephra mod for 88592715. I have been looking for that specific ROM file for download and I can not find it. The database I used to download from is no longer available.

It's in C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenECU\EcuFlash\rommetadata\mitsubishi\evo ?

Did you make sure to set the ECU type in ECUFlash to the right year?

Yes and yes. I've triple checked.
The last time was done by a shop. Maybe they locked it?

hmmm weird. It's definitely not locked, and I can read it. I can upload a zip of my evo metadata folder if you want it.
