Removing Wireless Control Module

Hello Lancer Gurus.

I am currently in the process of turning a 2009 VRX into a budget endurance racer.
I have purchased a Tactrix 2.0 and have flashed 59870002 ROM as noone seems to have a definition file for the 53770004 ROM.

This worked fine, the car still starts and everything is great.
The next part of the journey is to remove the immobilizer so I can do away with the key entirely and have an isolation switch + push button start.

This is where I am stuck.
I have disabled the immobilizer using the OpenPort however if I disconnect the wireless control module, the car refuses to start.

Am I missing something? Is there something else I need to do before I can get rid of the wireless control module?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Cam
