Ecu flash issues after tunning!!

All,
in need of some thoughts or guidance. I was getting my 05 evo 8 remote tuned the other day. I went thru about 6 revisions of a tuning file and the car was running great. As soon as I pulled into the driveway the car randomly shut off on me as well as I seen my laptop shut off at the same time (was pulling a log in evo scan).

Here is the dilemma, car wouldn't start after it shut off. I then disconnected the battery and checked the fuses and no issues with fuses. The next day the car had a dead battery. Root cause this for drain from the alternator as it was overcharging the system. I was able to start the car but it seems lile its running in closed loop. My current issue is this. For some reason I cannot read the ecu or even upload the next revision of the tune. My evo scan works but my ecu flash will not read from the ecu. Both connectors off my 1.3u are plugged in, I checked continuity between the flash diagnostic port and the ecu and its good.

Im wondering did my cable just give up on me or has anyone ever experienced this?

well you need a good batt charge. i think an extra batt and jumper cables would work

Yes car will start and run without an issue but I still get the same error when trying to "pre flash" a file on it.

Your flash connector is not connected, its next to the obd port.

FYI, 12V is at 50% charge. A fully charged 12V battery is 13.2V 6 cells at 2.2V = 13.2V. Most charge in the low 14V area.

With a 12.3V 50% charge level you may not be able to write to the ECU.
