Help: Ecu write stopped in middle, cant flash or read and car wont start now

Need your help and suggestions guys,

Using ECU flash version 1.42.2595
Tactrix 1.3 cable seems fine

1. Car was cold, so I started it and let it idle for half minute and then attempted to flash.

2. In the middle of it Ecu flash stopped writing.

3. Attempted to write again now I get the message

Sending init sequence 1 0001
Sending init sequence 1 0003
Sending init sequence 1 FFFF
no response to any known code
interface close

Car wont start now, wont read ecu and wont write either. I'm not sure why it stopped writing half way, I was too quick to jump and restart it the writing.

I had tephra v7 SD map with dual tune. Right now it wont respond to the gas pedal trick to switch maps (ecu flash slow or fast). It does however respond to activating the ACD pump prime when I hold the accel pedal down. There is power in the car as well and the motor does crank but doesnt fire up.

I'm going to try and get a battery tender in case the battery voltage is low.

Any suggestions? Will it still be flash able? Am I screwed?

Solution
Battery voltage was lower than desired by Ecu to flash. Got a "jump" from bros car and with the added voltage I was able to write to ecu and start the car.

*Key note: If the battery voltage is below Ecu desired target, it wont allow you to write to ecu.

Sounds like the battery got too cold during the rewrite. Plugging the battery to something to ensure it's fully charged should help. Also try turning off all electronics (radio, HVAC, etc) when writing.

I was in my garage when my rewriting stopped half way like you; I used 2 small heaters to warm up the garage and after an hour or so I was able to rewrite and all was well.

I've had EcuFlash stop while writing because I didn't let the car idle long enough beforehand, but I was always able to start the car afterwards.
Just hook up a battery tender to the battery or connect it to another car with jumper cables and flash again.

Thanks for the advises.

I was able to reflash again. I borrowed some voltage from my brothers car and I was able to reflash.

Previously I heard from somewhere that if you attempt to start the car while its writing it will go into a block mode and not start until dealer flashes. So that is why I panicked, thinking the disrupt in the middle of the flash may have done the same or worse.

I should probably mention I am using a mini battery. I checked its voltage cold and it was 11.8 . Well that was after numerous cranking and sitting in the car trying to reflash ...

Almost had a heart attack, Thanks again guys,

The IXs seem to be more susceptible to low voltage situations than the VIIs were. If there isn't already a sticky on "why can't I flash" they should be one with these steps outlined.

I know that the problem is solved now, but another possible solution for when you cannot reflash with EcuFlash - give Evoscan reflashing a go.

I once managed to reflash pretty much a rom filled with FFFF's (flash drive didn't copy properly in the first place). EcuFlash wouldn't recognise it, but Evoscan saved my day there!
