im learning how to tune, and i flashed my map to stock since the previous owner of the car had it tuned and gave it to me stock...

everything flashed over fine but trying to start the car, it wont, so i changed the immobilizer number and not it wont allow me to read the ecu or anything. keeps giving me this..

i dont know if this is an easy fix of i screwed my ecu. i want to begin to start tuning but i cant do it if i cant pull the map from my ecu. someone help me out.

 

not 100% sure, but it may be locked. i think thats the error you get when its locked. try downloading the ecu unlocker from aktivematrix.com. i may be way off though, im kinda new to it also. ive got that message for 2 reasons, locked map, and not having the flash cable connected.

i went to aktivematrix.com and downloaded it but its just a file....doesnt open in anything...

how do i do the unlocker thing....i have the file on the computer....but dont know what to do from there.

 

Looks like a locked ECU...

Download the un-locker tool......run the tool....then run ECU Flash and try to read the ROM again...

just do what he said.

Run the unlocker EXE.

Then run ecuflash and try and read the ROM...

 

close ecuflash, open the ecu unlocker .exe file and leave it running, open ecu flash, try to read the map, or try to write the new map, which ever you are trying to do.

 

ok i downloaded it from aktivmatrix but its wont run.

i dont think its an .exe file. anyone have a link to a different one?
