No start after switching to OEM ecu *SOLVED*

UPDATED - See post #16

basically car starts up and struggles to stay at idle and dies after afew seconds. Good oil pressure, no codes on evoscan. Good compression across all cylinders. Plugs are saturated in fuel and raw gas smell from tail pipe. This all started after I installed oem ecu with a tephra rom.

I'm pretty sure there is an option to disable it in tephra but I don't know if that is setup from the jump or not.

yea i saw the option where you replace the value to 0 which it already is, unless there is anything else you have to do?

UPDATE* getting only 16 ohms resistance with a multimeter test for the crank position sensor. Does this mean it’s bad? Also would this cause no spark no injector pulse?

Glad to hear that you got the immobilizer sorted.

I don't know what to tell you about the crank position sensor. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

hopefully..I remember getting a lot more responses on this forum for troubleshooting lol. But yea I tested the CPS this morning again. I’m getting a response from signal wire to ecu. So now I’m really lost. Basically my problem now is no injector pulse no spark.

I have not, that can be checked in evoscan correct? The check engine light is off so I thought that meant there are no codes.

did your ems require sensor upgrades? is Canada evo USDM? I recently got a file (modified version of my file) from an evoms user in germany and it wont start my car so I copied several modified tables to the original file, which works. our only diff is some MUT tables.

Okay I’m getting somewhere it seems like the signal wire for the crank sensor is getting 10v shouldn’t it be a 5v reference? Would this keep it from functioning?

there is no Canada evo 9s so yea it’s usdm i got my file from the evo wiki and the file market says TDM if that matters should it say usdm?

also no to the sensor upgrade for the ems.

yea I’m trying not to crank it over too much. Just after I try something different. So I think my CPS is the issue. I get 5v coming from the engine harness. Then when I test the CPS sensor signal wire (the blue one) on the sensor side it stops and is 0v. I don’t think that’s normal. I’m starting to think it’s definitely the crank sensor.

one important detail I left out now that you said timing belt jumped. my exhaust cam is set to retarded one tooth. But I didnt think that could cause no start..
