Boost Control

On the boost cut & timer, what are tipicial values you might use?

Assuming the number for 'boost limit' is in kpA (stock value 245) that equals about ~21psi, i was thinking of raising it too 23psi or about 260 for the value..... Is this a good value? Do i need to raise the timer?

Under the boost control, the value starts at 159.4 until 3000rpm and tapers to 122.5 at 7000rpm... is this in KPA?

What is the value that should be input to hold about 21psi from spool to redline? Leave the 159.4 and change the values to 145 from 4000-7000rpm ?

Thanks for everything!

the stock solenoid suck. it's not going to hold boost at all. your best is to get an MBC cheap and works wonderfully

what boost level is everyone seeing using 159.4 as the value throughout the table?

what values is everyone using for the boost cut? stock is 245

why would you zero out the Error correction table? That looks like to me some sort of table for changing the gain of the stock silenoid based on boost error +/- from the 'boost desired engine load' . If you have your desired value set correctly why would you change the Error correction??

The boost management is not in kpa or Psi or bar but in % load engine.

240% at 6000 = about 340-350 hp at the fly depending of your mods.

This % load is used by the ECU to manage the boost in closed loop.

159.4 is the max load you can use in the boost desired map.

But it's not the real load.

In my opinion :
The real load used for the boost target is = Boost control load offset + the value of the Boost desired engine load.

So if you desire a target of 240% of load everywhere you probably need to raise the boost control load offset at 80 + to put 159.4 in the boost desired engine load map everywhere. The ECU should try to get 239.4 % of load everywhere.

Havent tested much but i think it should work like that.

You probably need to raise the duty map too.

Actually all the duty map cells are at 100%. But you can go up to 127.5.

I think 100% is pretty bad for the turbo lag cause your solleno is not open at the max at the first second. The ECU probably need a time to adjust with the turbo boost error correction map to raise the boost to the desired load. It's probably some precious time lost.

If my theory is correct, 220% of load is the max with the stock values.
Cause 60 + 159.4 = 219.4% of load max.

As soon you the engine reachs this % load, the ECU starts to lower the duty.

I too have been trying to figure this out. (yes, I have searched plenty)

I do not want EBC or MBC just yet and I do not want to d!ck about with the line restrictor pills or change the stock solenoid

This is what I have been considering:

Increase the "Boost Limit" to remove the boost/fuel cut. Mine (UK stock) is currently set to a maximum of 255.

Increased the Desired Boost to 159.4 in the mid range and just tapper the last few K just for safety. (Table #2)

Increase the Wastegate Duty to 120 (Table #1 or #3 or both)

Comments?
