I ditched my LC-1 after about a 1 1/2 years. I've been using the ZT2 since September and have been trouble free, plug it into the laptop and it always works.
I think they are both good when the LC-1 works but I couldn't take the constant re-calibration I had to do and then losing calibration during driving made me nuts. Even ended up when I hooked the ZT2 up my afr was off from where I thought it was, so something was def. going on with my LC-1.
A few of my friends run them with 0 problems, so I was one of the unlucky ones....

"Please connect the devise to the serial and switch it on" this is all i get now. Log Works, LMprgramer and Evoscan. 12.1V at controler. 0.1 OHMs ground I have performed numerous recallibrations. Please help someone, anyone. I have the ground behind the ACD controller should I move it?

one issue that can be a problem is the cable connection on the opposite end of the serial plug. that stereo plug connection can be difficult to plug or too easy depending, but either way it can be faulty.
sure you already know the importance of independent grounds for the lc-1 wiring AND that those grounds are super good.
good luck

wow, a lot of posts. I'm just now running into problems with my LC1. It's held up to many race hours and even a total turbo meltdown (I'm talking melting inconel). Now it seems to go a bit haywire when I put too much heat into it. I'm replacing the sensor and putting a heatsink on soon. I anticipate this fixing the problem. I've never had recal problems. I've always had the LC1 hardwired to my ECU+ from day 1 so I've never needed the serial cable.

Have LC-1 and had only one issue logging with Evoscan, and that was because I had labeled the port to 5 and not 1-3, so it wouldn't recognize it. Once I fixed that all was peachy. Also try out evoscan 2.7 beta as it has an auto recal function for the innovate lc-1 and it automatically resets the fuel type to Gasoline (14.7) before use....

its really only a problem for poorly designed electronics. everything i have ever installed has worked fine with a single grounding point, and it didn't matter if it was the ground off the ecu, a chassis ground, or a screw into sheetmetal. yet, every LC1 i've ever used or helped people with have had issues. zeitronix i've never had a problem with and installed tons of them with the exception of sensors going bad over time(and when a sensor goes bad it is very very obvious).
