I also have ACT xtxx and not too long ago started to make a lot of noise and I think it might be it.

Stupid question, but what oil are you running, and do you have noisy lifters? The older cars were prone to "phantom knock" due to the knock sensor picking up lifter noise, usualy at cruise/ part throttle. This sounds just like that.

I don't know how ECUFlash/EvoScan is, but on DSMLink you can disable the knock sensor below a certain threshold to combat this, based on throttle position or RPM. Is this possible for you guys?

thanks man! I will check it again but I doubt that this is the case. Couple of weeks ago I cleaned the filter and I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I will confirm my findings maybe tonight...

Do you have a foam filter? Did you oil it when you cleaned it? I've randomly been getting knock lately too and i just cleaned and oiled my filter a couple weeks ago and was wondering if excessive filter oil could cause it...

Only times I see low load cruise knock is either (A) right after I reflash, or (B) after the battery is disconnected. Anything that seems to reset the "learning" of the ecu tends to make it pick up knock like crazy, after about 10 minutes of driving it disappears completely.

I do however still get the occasional 3-4 counts when crossing the vac/boost threshold. No matter how much fuel/timing I add or subtract, it's always there. I've learned to live with it, although my throw out bearing seems to be a little noisier these days. Of course, I also have 70k on what I believe is still the stock clutch.

Well mine stopped by itself for over a week now. It comes from 36 count from 2400-3400 to 0 count!

Take a look at this .... a knockcount of 8, out of the blue. Nothing changed except fuel being pulled.

Just wondering if I should even bother?

The easy thing to do is to take roughly 3 degrees out of that area of the map and see if the knock sum still happens. If it does, then it is fasle knock.

I would rule out clutch noise that most people are talking about. My car false knocked in the same regions and it is an auto! I raised the load threshhold a little for the knock control and no more problems. Before that I was in 36-knock land while cruising down the freeway like a Corolla.
