Last week I was having some problem with ecuflash. So I unistalled and re-installed. So I open it up and plug the cable in and everything is looking good. I select read ecu, and usually a box comes up and it tells ya to select your vehicle. Well that box comes up, but absolutely nothing in it to select, it's blank. So by this time, I had a new rom sent to me, and I fiquered since I already sent him my rom before I started having problems, that I might as well try to write the new one. I go to upload it and a box comes up, saying unkown rom image and now Im getting real pissed cause this crap hasn't hapened before. When I first started using ecuflash, I had installed the 1.42, but had to go to the 1.29 version, because thats the only one that would read and write from my ecu, and detect my 1.3 cable. Anyways I have no idea where to begin trying to fix this. I took pictures of my rom file directory and metadate directory to. Maybe it's pulling it out of the wrong location idk. But ecu flash in the lower right corner says 1.3 openport, so to me it seems as though it is in communication with my cable. I will post these pics. up. I'm not the brightest with computers so I have no idea why this isn't working.

You need to open the error message log and follow that to where the problem is in the xml. Mine had duplicate copies in there. Not saying thats your problem but, you should start there.

Thanks for the advice, only problem is as of now even when I go to read the ecu I get that blank screen with no options to select. I don't know how to find the log errors either. I have only ever used ecuflash to read the rom, send it to get checked, then write the new one to my ecu. Sorry for the newb factor lol

attach the rom on here then someone can post up the appropriate xml , then download that and save to ecuflash rommetdata

maybe I could fwd the email that was sent with the attachment and someone could help me out by looking at it, edit the xml and the tell me how to save, and where to save it to.
