I have played with an ecurom script with ida and a stock evo rom but I don't think the scrip decompiles correctly to be honest.

I'm assuming you created these your self by analysis of a rom? I have been scouring the net for info but nothing real concrete with pictures and references or how to properly decompile a rom and define maps.

I have been told that people cross flashed the rvr ecu MD352553 with an EVO 5 rom directly and the car runs as normal., problem i the geekmapped forum is offline where all the info was kept.

I have been told on another forum that people with a manual ECU have flashed an EVO5 rom to a RVR X3 but not an auto that I can find.
I have the rom dumps from from the manual and auto cars:
MD352553 ROMID 21000011 if for a manual transmission
MD352554 ROMID 21000012 for an automatic transmission.
I have opened both ROMS's with a hex editor and used the compare function, there is only 4 words difference in the rom dumps other than the ROMID string basically they are identical.

No I have not I did not want to brick the only ECU for my car but I am looking for another ECU to try it.
IT looks like the ECU shares inputs and outputs so switching the rom to an EVO 5 may mess with things like the ISCV idle up controls when the car is set in drive or other thing I am unaware of.
I don't know if the engine control drives inputs on the gearbox and if the TCU will generate faults if it expects signals from the ECU?
The X3 rom is not well documented or understood so it is all a guess :-(

I have also attached an alternate XML for the RVR it is different in some of the hex addresses so I assume one or the other is incorrectit also has an additional 2d table that your xml does not have (Idle Stepper Look-up Table) but your one seems to be more complete and better laid out into groups.

It does lack features compared to that of an EVO 5 rom and xml and if an EVO 5 rom works then a ceddy rom will likely also.
This will open up h possibility of additional features over the RVR stock rom, I'm just wanting to try adapt an EVO 5 ROM to the RVR x3 auto ECU if I can, there is little info or research on the topic on the net.
If I can get an EVO rom to work it makes my job of tuning easier as I can install stock EVO items injectors MAF etc... and just drop in a stock EVO rom.
