military guys fuel ration question

How many liters are you guys getting, I really think that 400L is not enough, wondering if I just happen to have gotten screwed or if thats the norm for people with Evos

400L for evo and 400L for the BMW. With the evo I average using about 175L/month.

I can't speak for you guys in Germany but I can feel a little of your pain. We get the same 400L a month here and between two cars it barely gets me by. Last year summer when I did two trackdays in one weekend I almost blew through the 400L in 2days.

I couldn't imagine being you guys with the autobahn. Evos just aren't geared for cruising at 140kph.

Ya I burn through my rations every month like I'm down to 15L's right now but I only have 1 car for my Wife and I. Funny thing is my neighbor has a minivan which gets better mpg than me and he gets 600L a month. Seriously going by the motor size is bull, it needs to go by a number of factors. I tried to argue my point to the vehicle registration place and got nowhere. I brought papers showing the stock mpg compared to trucks, suvs and minivans which got better gas mileage than the Evo but they still said it goes by motor size. I wonder I far up I can bring this up because it isn't fair, if I where back in the States I would be paying less money for fuel and fill up when ever I want.

OldschoolEvo your right I burn through more gas on the Autobahn than I would like but I found that if I keep it around 70-75 mph the mileage is not that bad but going 100mph+ I can watch the fuel gauge drop.

That's what we get for letting that idiot fill up his German friend's cars. I don't burn my rations, but then again I don't go very many places. I'm still not being paid properly

Ya but that was selling fuel coupons since they went modern with the card, they need to update the fuel limits not by size of motor. I mean a minivan gets more fuel than me because it has a bigger motor but uses less fuel, doesnt seemrigh. We are already paying more than the national average by far and AAFES is suppose to be tax free, ya right.

Just found out there is a form that you can fill out and request more rations, I definitely will get it since I go over my rations every month

I got to ask, where all are you driving. I live about 15 miles from work, I filled up my evo yesterday, the last day of the month and still have 275 of 400 liters left. I drive to and from work 5-6 times a week.

He lives in the Vilseck/Graf area. Driving in that area sucks cause everything is damn near 30min away from each other. I was pretty glad that I didn't take my Evo when I went TDY. I was filling up the TMP twice a week.

Ya and I only had 1 car for my family, just picked up a Golf II for the Wife yesterday and going to pick one up for myself as a commuter so I can start going to MMA gym in Nurnburg which is like 40 mins away and keep the miles off the Evo until the summer. If I stay off boost as best as I can I would average 200-245 miles per tank 47ish liters to fill up from empty. I also live off post in a private rental so I live about 10 miles away from Vilseck, do that a couple times in the morning for work, wife's work, dropping kid off school and I already hit over 40 miles before even lunch.

haha she would kill me also they dont have a bus in my little town, you can walk around the whole town in 15 mins at a slow pace. So were just use our Golfs for commuting, save the wear and tear on the Evo for the sight seeing.
