SPA F1 track day

Guys,

There are still places available for tuesday 16 july on the F1 track in SPA Belgium. We're already 2 guys going, anyone interested? It's op pitlane, this means track time from 08:00 till 17:00, only pitting for petrol/brake pads and tyres.
You can book online: http://www.wheeltorque.uk.com

Jan.

The day after SPA, a day to forget asap. My car was doing ****, white smoke each time I shift up, first signs of engine wear, car is only 15 months old and 40k Kms. It probably is wear in the cylinder bores and piston rings. Running way rich has something to do with it I guess. I left my car a whole week at the dealer to make it ready and mentioned brakes, he told me the brakes were ok and would survive 1 full track day. **** that, after about 1 hour of track driving my rear brake pads were completely gone, metal to metal :-(.
Another disappointment was the competition, or they were the slow caterhams/super 7's/scooby's/donkervoorts which I easely could be beaten or there were the porker cars (GT3 race prepped 650 hp monsters on slicks or other exotic cars) who would leave me for dead like I was a freaking diesel.
The only fun I had was with a standard gt3 with decent tyres, no slicks, it was good fun for 8-9 laps till my brakes died. Another thing, my suspension needs replacement, and I need ****ing strut bars (waiting for 6 months on the cusco ****), look at the action pictures and how my car leans over badly. I'm so disappointed I'm really close to sell it.

He, Jan!

My engine is toast as well. After 21,000 km! Metal bits all in the oil. Taking the engine out tomorrow, we'll see what caused it.

Yeah, by now (definitely after the engine repair) I could have bought a more reliable Porsche!!

I think I am going of turbo's. My daily driver has no turbo....

Evo's are fun, but the quality is not so great.

Too bad bout your engine Gerrit, I know the feeling, uptilll now there was ALWAYS something wrong with my evo as well, clutch, gearbox, brakes, all have to be replaced with HIGH end aftermarket parts. We all know about porker cars, but hey, they hardly brake down after track days unless you crash them.
The evo is pretty cheap to buy and basic tuning is cheap but at the long run they cost you dear with all the stuff that needs to be replaced after heavy track use. Now I understand why heavely tuned cars (the good way) cost ****loads of $$.
Don't know if Porsches do wear down after heavy track days like you and I do on a regular base, but hey, I might find out soon.
