Stock FMIC dyno record?

Hello, is there a VIII / IX stock FMIC dyno record? I'm curious to see how much the stock FMIC restricts an upgraded turbo like the Red. Thanks.

I don't know what your intentions are, but I don't get "records" like what you're asking about and maxing out the stock turbo. By the time you're setting a record, because of all the heat involved its so inefficient it's not funny. Why not upgrade to the necessary part?

I just can't see myself spending 10K to get the stock turbo record as opposed to spending 10K and getting an easy 100hp more with a proper turbo set up.

I dont think people focus on this kind of record that much...i mean the intercooler is a very important part of the whole turbo set-up and staying stock or getting an inferior one will seriously hurt you and most likely cause heat oversoaking....it would be best to upgrade if that is your question.

If you can afford a Red don't be cheap and run the stock intercooler. Heatsoak and knock will be prone and bad things happen. Don't waste the time for a pointless record. Its like setting the record for who made the most power on 87oct

DSM.org's horsepower calculator says somewhere between 431-437whp for that pass.

I guess a better question would be: At what point does the efficiency of the stock intercooler drop enough to put it higher on the list of mods to do?

Sorry, maybe I should rephase this. I don't intend to challenge any records (I'm driving an X now anyway).

I'm only wondering what the actual limits of the stock IC are. FMICs seem to be the bread and butter of a lot of race shops, but I haven't seen a lot of tangible comparisons other than them saying I just need to go drop $1000+ for this and the associated piping. Also wondering if cold weather gives the same benefit on the stock IC. All that said, I'm sure I will end up buying one, but I like to see what my gains/$$ are for each mod. Thanks.

Nice, what did it take to go from there to the 502 you have in your sig?

Exactly. Said better than I could have myself.

Do I install and tune the Red i have sitting here now, or wait a while until I have enough extra cash to do the FMIC at the same time?

Swapped in a Garrett cored FMIC and a Brad Brooks tune.
