welcome to the bbk fam.

very impressive results. he probably would've gained more had he gone with cossi cams but good numbers none the less.

perhaps a 91 octane graph?? i peaked at 367awhp with 91 on similar mods with the same turbo.

Man I really want to see what one of these will do on an IX with stock cams and just injectors, BCS, intake and exhaust on pump gas, 11.0:1 AFR and 24psi. Crazy not to do a SS o2 housing and ported manifold while you have everything apart, but just more money. This turbo is great value, the bang/buck for the 'real world' evo is just awesome.

Bryan, do you think the hks cams lend much on this setup?

Nice gains given the very low cost in spoolup.

Would a Green be that close response wise to the 9 turbo?

The HKS seem a bit mild compared to other offerings. However I have only tuned a couple 9's with them. The mivec tunes out totally different than other cams on the market. You can't even tell the car has cams.

What other things would you recommend? thanks mike
If you are looking to get everything you can out of the BBK Full turbo, I would work on making the car as efficient as possible. Take a look at this mod list, it made excellent power with this turbo:

hmm...i'm still leaning over to fp green due to price+what i want out of my car...results seem close to being the same, fp green comes out a bit cheaper if you think about it because comes with your choice of the wastegate actuator and the port job is cheaper...even if you supply the evo 9 core, the evo 9 core green still comes out cheaper (unless you get the bbk lite). although...waiting to see if cbrd has a thanksgiving or xmas special. lol

Nice power.
Was the previously installed evo 9 turbo ported as well? if not, based on your experience, would it be safe to assume it would have picked up abt 15-20whp if it was?

While i love big turbo setups....the ideal of a bbk seems very appealing at times..

Sure. We have had a bunch of both stock evo 9 turbos on E85 and BBK full on E85 on our dyno.

The highest stock motor Evo 9 turbo on E85 on our dyno so far has been 403whp. The highest stock motor BBK so far on our dyno with E85 has been 442whp.

im sorry,

we do not do specials, it just isn't in our business model ;(

We use Genuine mitsubishi CHRA's then upgrade them to the BBK, which is why our expense is high.

PM me if you have any specific questions!

cheers

Nice ignoring my question,

Comparing an unported stock evo 9 turbo to a PORTED aftermarket turbo
And implying that all the new found power is due to that turbo IS MISLEADING.

Then again, that's typical behavour for many venders / tuners

Isn't that what the bbk is? An upgrade turbo..I don't see what the vendor did wrong?
